Alessandra Perrazzelli, Italy’s only female banker, has decided to promote the Club For Leading Women (C4LW), a club open to both genders, in Milan.
“I thought long and hard about whether we should take legal action to ensure that women are accepted in clubs of this kind. And then I thought: why waste time, energy and money trying to change clubs that are really rather old-fashioned? The best thing would be to open a new club open to both women and men with a focus on innovation.”
Alessandra Perrazzelli, Italy’s only female banker (at the helm of the Italian division of Barclays’) decided to promote Italy’s first clubhouse open to both genders in Milan’s Brera district. In Italy, clubs where men meet to “network” and establish business contacts are not open to women, unlike British and American clubs, which opened their doors to women long ago.
The club, opened with Pietro Martani and the real estate company Copernico, will open in April and host a series of events for the Club For Leading Women (C4LW). “Pietro and I wanted the C4LW to play a key role in life at the Club, attracting leading women in various sectors of the economy, industry and society and hosting events of interest to all, but with a feminine approach.”
